Council Approves Fence Variance for HT Hackne at 875 Center Point Drive

The council approved a variance for a fence at 875 Center Point Drive, located in the Industrial District. The approved variance allows for a black wrought iron fence not exceeding 8 feet in height along the front yard on Center Drive and extending along all four sides of the building. Key conditions include the fence not being installed beyond the east side of the structure (facing South Brown School Road) and the transition to a chain link fence occurring in the southwest corner after the westernmost driveway. The applicant, HT Hackne, aims to install the fence quickly due to a pending lease agreement and a desire to move in promptly. This variance was previously discussed at a study session on June 15th, where the Board of Zoning Appeals recommended approval of the front yard fence along Center Drive but denied other front yard fence requests and barbed wire elements. The applicant withdrew those specific requests on June 26th. The approval was motioned by Vice Mayor Follic and seconded by Councilwoman Avalotus Weaver, passing with a 7-0 vote.
