Special Use Permit Granted for Alma Spanish Emergent School Daycare
The City Council considered a special use permit (SUP) request for the Alma Spanish Emergent School to operate a group daycare at 125 Walnut Street. The property is zoned RS (residential single family) and designated as mixed density neighborhood. Staff found the request meets criteria for an SUP, including compliance with the comprehensive plan and compatibility with surrounding uses, though a variance to parking and vehicle stacking requirements was needed and approved by the Zoning Board of Adjustment (ZBA). The Planning and Zoning Commission (PNZ) unanimously recommended approval of the SUP [cite: 65-93].
City Council Approves Zoning for Pecom Ranch Water Reclamation Facility
The City Council held a public hearing and approved the first reading of an ordinance to zone 46.99 acres of City of Georgetown-owned property to the public facility zoning district. This property, to be known as the Pecom Ranch Water Reclamation Facility, is located at 3500 FM 971, east of the Three Forks Water Reclamation Facility. The Planning and Zoning Commission had unanimously recommended approval [cite: 36-48, 50].
