Manor Celebrates Juneteenth and Unveils Future City Hall/Library Plans

The city of Manor celebrated Juneteenth on June 19th, 2026, with an event that highlighted community connection, culture, performances, and vendors. Mayor Christopher Harvey and the Manor City Council proclaimed the day as Juneteenth in Manor, encouraging residents to reflect on their journey toward freedom and foster unity and pride. The event underscored the importance of people coming together as one community. Additionally, the city released renderings and information for a future city hall and library building project, slated to open around mid-2028. This facility will serve as a centerpiece and include a new city hall, council chambers, public library, community gathering spaces, and other resources. The project focuses on creating spaces that serve residents both now and in the future as Manor grows. The segment also featured La Central ATX, a local restaurant contributing to Manor's food scene and culture, highlighting their menu items like 'better than dumplings' (Mexican-Asian fusion), chicken wraps, Katsu curry, and Manor hot chicken, all made from scratch. The restaurant operates as a one-man team and is open Wednesday through Saturday for dinner service.
