Council Establishes Process for Street Light Requests, Approves Parker Road Referral
The council discussed the process for approving street light requests, specifically addressing a request for Parker Road. It was decided that requests will be referred to the Municipal Light Department (MLDD) and potentially the Traffic Commission for recommendations before a public hearing and final council vote. A policy for this process will be drafted. For the Parker Road request, the town administrator will refer it to MLDD and the Traffic Advisory committee before bringing it back to the council.

The council approved the minutes from the June 8th, 2026 regular and executive town council meetings. Votes for both sets of minutes passed unanimously.
Council Authorizes Temporary Lake Signage for Algae Blooms, Reviews Existing Signs
The council authorized the Board of Health to pre-approve and deploy temporary signage around the lake to warn the public about potential blue-green algae blooms and associated health risks. This decision was made in anticipation of the algae season and given that the next council meeting is not until July 20th. The council also discussed reviewing the clarity and placement of existing permanent 'no swimming' and 'no fishing' signs around the lake.
Council Announcements: Congratulations, Safety Reminders, and Retreat Planning
During announcements, Councilor Wall congratulated the class of 2026 and wished them well. The Chair also congratulated graduating students and urged everyone to have a safe summer, specifically advising against swimming in the lake and recommending wearing helmets. The Chair welcomed back from vacation and thanked Liz and Sher for their support. The Town Administrator reminded council members about scheduling the town council retreat and requested preferences for liaison assignments, noting that a spreadsheet with previous assignments is available.
Town Council Approves Boys and Girls Club Permit Agreement
The town council discussed and approved a revocable permit agreement for the Boys and Girls Club. The agreement outlines terms and conditions, services, employees, and safety procedures. A minor change was noted regarding the absence of a camp program and an update to the administrator's name and council members.
