Committee Reviews Madison Movement Holdings Zoning Modifications and Traffic Study
The Community Inspector Committee discussed minor modifications to Madison Movement Holdings, specifically related to a zoning amendment approved in February 2025. This amendment adjusted landscape requirements (not to exceed 75% minimum landscape, not less than 20%) for hotel and restaurant lots, similar to Unicorn Park and office parks, to allow hotel refinancing or sale. The process involved Planning Board approval of an AI plan and Board of Appeals for setbacks, culminating in this council review for amended site plan approval. The current plan does not expand uses, change parking, or alter site access. The discussion also touched upon recent special permit decisions for various businesses on the site, including 110 Grill, Chick-fil-A, Press Cafe, and Starbucks. A key point of discussion was traffic concerns on Tower Park Drive, with Chick-fil-A hiring VAI to study traffic flow and signal coordination. The study will inform potential improvements, including restriping Tower Park Drive to ensure two lanes are available earlier. The committee voted to send the matter out to pass.
Personnel Committee Recommends Brian Morenon for Golf and Ski Authority Appointment
The personnel committee considered the appointment of Brian Morenon to the Wuban Golf and Ski Authority. Mayor Concannon presented Morenon, highlighting his extensive background in golf and golf management and his recent instrumental role in assisting with management shifts and hiring a new superintendent. Morenon himself expressed his long-standing involvement with the Wuban Country Club and his desire to make improvements. The committee members, including Councilor Mara, spoke highly of Morenon's reputation and his past contributions to the golf course's condition. The committee voted to send the appointment recommendation to the council.
Committee Approves Road Race Application and License Renewal, Discards Stale Request
The Committee on Public Safety and Legislative Order met with three agenda items. First, they moved to remove a request from Mr. Devine from consideration as it has been in committee for over 24 months. Second, they approved a special event application for a road race organized by the WooBen Decker Club, to be held on Pond and Area Streets on August 15, 2022. Third, they approved the renewal of a second-hand dealers and collectors license for Musto Jewelers at 186 Cambridge Road. All items were voted to be sent out to pass.
