Pampa ISD's Baker Subdivision Replat Approved
The City Commission approved an application from Pampa Independent School District to replat a 5.2-acre tract of land in suburb 66 and 67, to be known as the Baker subdivision. This is the final step in the replat and road abandonment process for this property, allowing it to be submitted to the county.
City Approves Grant Application for Up to $21 Million in Water Infrastructure Projects
The City Commission adopted Resolution R26-00007, approving a grant application to the Texas Water Development Board for potential financial assistance up to $21 million. The application supports projects including a terminal water storage reservoir, a new water well, a reuse project, a ground storage tank, improvements to the SCADA system, completion of the meter project, leak detection, and rehabilitation of water towers. The application deadline is July 30th.
City Adopts Updated Water Conservation and Drought Contingency Plans
The City Commission adopted Ordinance Number 1836 on second and final reading, which amends the code of ordinances by repealing and replacing the Water Conservation Plan (Article 13.05) and the Drought Contingency Plan (Article 13.06). This ordinance will be submitted to the state water development board and PRPC.
City Commission Kicks Off Annual Budget Discussions
The City Commission initiated their budget discussion, outlining the budget calendar and process for the upcoming fiscal year. Teresa presented the framework, including special and general funds, and highlighted the timeline for budget adoption and tax rate approval before October 1st. The discussion detailed the structure of governmental and proprietary funds, their revenue sources, and fund restrictions, emphasizing transparency and departmental needs in budget setting. Staff will finalize the proposed budget for a work session, with departmental meetings to follow.
