Arcana Neighborhoods 3-6 Preliminary Final Plan Approved with Conditions

The Board of Commissioners considered and approved the preliminary final subdivision and land development plan for Arcana Neighborhoods 3, 4, 5, and 6. This approval is subject to several conditions, including satisfying remaining comments from R2 and the Cumberland County Planning Department, and the installation of final wearing course paving within a timeframe to be approved by the Board and incorporated into the developer agreement. Several waivers for requirements such as on-street parking, right-of-way width, curbing, sidewalk installation, planting islands, and concrete curbing were also approved. The board also discussed and approved the plan for a new roundabout at the intersection of Strong Road and Rossmoyne Road. Residents voiced concerns about parking, particularly in the Chelsea neighborhood, and the impact of the development on existing infrastructure and quality of life. The developer, Charter Homes, agreed to several modifications and to continue engaging with residents on parking issues.
