Community Donation Equips Harrisburg Police Mountain Bike Unit with New E-Bikes

Chris Herr, RC Herr LLC, and the William Penn Social Club donated $10,000 to the Harrisburg Bureau of Police for two new fully equipped electric bikes for the Mountain Bike Division. The donation was facilitated through a friendship between Chris Herr and Sergeant Chad McGowan, supervisor of the Mountain Bike Patrol. These e-bikes will enhance the department's ability to patrol areas inaccessible to traditional vehicles, improve community policing efforts, and strengthen relationships between officers and residents. The e-bikes are Recon's newest police package models, featuring a 1000-watt motor, capable of 28-30 mph, and a 50-mile range on a full charge. Scott Kosovar of Engear Cycle and Fitness was also thanked for providing assistance and maintenance for the unit.
