Lancaster City Council Convenes, Administers Oaths to Newly Elected Members, and Makes Key Appointments

The Lancaster City Council meeting began with an invocation by Pastor Kevin Norrell and the Pledge of Allegiance led by Deputy Mayor Pro Tem Betty Gooden Davis. Following citizen comments, the council approved the consent agenda, which included a resolution canvassing election returns for Council Member District 4. The meeting then proceeded to the administration of oaths of office for newly elected council members, with Stanley Michael Jaglowski (District 2), Derek Robson (District 4), and Betty Gooden Davis (District 6) taking their oaths. The council also elected Betty Gooden Davis as Mayor Pro Tem and chose between two nominees for Deputy Mayor Pro Tem, Cheetham and Robinson, with Cheetham ultimately selected. Finally, council members were appointed to various city boards and commissions based on seniority.
