Kettering City Council Approves Motorola Contract for 911 System Upgrades

The City Council approved a resolution to amend Resolution 11468-26, authorizing the city manager to contract with Motorola Solutions Inc. through PXR Communications for upgrades to the Kettering Dispatch Center. This contract includes purchasing a locution Axis console computer, upgrades for the Axis dispatch conversion, a site controller, and implementation services. The sealed bid requirement was waived. The estimated cost is $392,172, with $103,214 budgeted. The police department requested this. The upgrades are required for the state's next-generation 911 system. The purchase is being made in 2026 to save approximately $150,000, with the total project cost originally estimated at $542,172. Funding will be split: $196,958 from 911 funds, $78,214 from the Fire Department general fund, and $117,000 from the Dispatch Division General Fund. Kettering City Council Approves Charter Amendment Submission for Voter Consideration
