The session concluded with questions about the origin of the 'Brown Act' name and digital misconduct.
Staff Updates Provided on Community Grants and Immigration Enforcement
The Human Relations Commission received updates from staff regarding community grants and federal immigration enforcement activity. The 2026 Community Support Grant Program recommendation was removed from the June 23rd City Council agenda, and all applicants were notified. For federal immigration enforcement, the city's 'one one' system received no community reports in May 2026, but the Riverside Police Department received one notification of ICE or Border Patrol activity within city limits. The City Manager's office will continue reporting on this matter.
