Colton Police Chief Vega Earns Highest Peace Officer Certification in California

The City Council recognized Colton Police Chief Anthony Vega for completing the POST-Executive Certificate Program, the highest certification for a peace officer in California. The program involved extensive training, including FBI National Academy. His career spans over 25 years, with experience in various assignments within the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department and leadership roles at CSU San Bernardino Police Department and Rialto Police Department before becoming Colton's 32nd Police Chief in June 2024. The city has seen significant improvements in police department staffing under his leadership, reducing vacancies from 33% to five. The council commended his vision, integrity, and service, highlighting his contribution to enhancing community safety and trust.

Colton Declares July as Parks and Recreation Month, Highlighting Community Benefits

The City Council proclaimed July as Parks and Recreation Month.
