During the public comments section, Bobby Cox announced the 'Start the Success Backpack Campaign' and a packing party scheduled for July 18th. He requested donations of various items, including feminine products and toothpaste. The City Manager's office will promote the event on the community calendar.
Proposed Zoning Changes for Medlock Bridge Road and EV Charging Stations to be Considered Next Month
Two first reads were presented for future consideration. The first is a request for a change to the conditions of RZM 03011 at 3560 Medlock Bridge Road. The second is an amendment to the City of Peachtree Corners zoning ordinance to add definitions and requirements for commercial EV charging stations in various zoning districts. Both items will be considered at next month's city council meeting.
Peachtree Corners City Council Approves FY2026 Operating Budget, Fee Schedule, and Capital Improvement Plan
The City Council reviewed and approved the amended fiscal year 2026 operating budget for each fund of the City of Peachtree Corners. This budget was previously presented at a work session and had a public hearing at the May City Council meeting. The property tax for homeowners remains at zero millage. Additionally, the council approved the fiscal year 2027 fee schedule and the five-year capital improvement project plan for FY 2027 through FY [cite: 340]. A portion of the fee schedule includes a $60 street light assessment for residential parcels, which applies to all existing and new street lights, bringing all into the same categories. The council also approved the fiscal year 2027 operating budget for each fund of the city, which also keeps the property tax for homeowners at zero millage.
Revocation of Special Use Permit for Auto Repair Denied Pending Compliance
The City Council considered a request for the revocation of a special use permit at 4285 South Old Peachtree Road for automobile repair and storage. This item was tabled from the May 26th meeting. It was confirmed that conditions related to vehicle parking have been resolved, but LDP conditions are still out of compliance. However, the applicant has a path forward with engaged engineers for an LDP and replanning. The Community Development Director recommended denying the revocation, with the understanding that it can be brought back if the property comes out of compliance or fails to follow the compliance plan. This action does not impact a municipal court order for outstanding violations due by August. The public hearing was opened and closed, with no speakers in favor or opposition. The motion to deny the revocation passed.
City Manager Authorized to Proceed with Roundabout Construction and Street Resurfacing
The consent agenda included authorization for the city manager to execute a construction agreement for the Peachtree Corners Circle Roundabout and a construction change order for the FY2027 street resurfacing. Both items were approved without questions or concerns.
