The commission, comprising Joliet and five other communities, plans to locate an intermediate pumping station and storage facility on a 15-acre property within village limits. While Lamont is not part of the commission, the agreement secures favorable terms for the village, including coordination for utilities, mitigation of drainage and noise impacts, trail connections, and recoupment of costs for plan review. The agreement also addresses potential utility conflicts and ensures the commission will serve unincorporated areas in Lamont's planning area.
Village Board Approves Amendment for Freight Terminal to Include Truck Wash Bay
The village board considered an amendment to a final Planned Unit Development (PUD) for a freight transportation terminal and truck trailer parking/cargo container storage. The amendment allows for the construction of a truck wash bay. Previously approved conditions regarding truck traffic, routing, the installation of a westbound right turn lane, and daily trip limits remain in effect. The request is solely for the addition of the truck wash bay accessory to the facility.
Contract Awarded for Lead Water Service Line Replacement Project Phase 2
The village board approved the award of a contract for Phase 2 of the lead water service line replacement project. Three bids were received, and IHC, which completed Phase 1, was the low bidder for Phase 2. Staff recommended entering into the agreement with IHC.
HR Green Hired for Ed Bosert Drive Bridge Repair Design Engineering
The village board approved a professional services agreement with HR Green Incorporated for design engineering related to Ed Bosert Drive bridge repairs. The 2023 inspection revealed necessary work, and the village aims to address it this year to avoid falling behind. The agreement, not to exceed $36,500 for phase one engineering, includes repairs for joint bearings, electrical service box removal, sealer, crack, and spalling deck repair.
