Real-Time Crime Center Enhances Public Safety and Investigations
The city has implemented a Real-Time Intelligence and Crime Center, a centralized location for all crime data, analysis, video feeds, and license plate reader information. This center features a video wall displaying up to eight different screens, providing real-time tracking of police cars, fire trucks, ambulances, and city cameras. The system allows for detailed zooming into specific locations, such as apartment complexes, to monitor individual cameras and drone feeds. The center has been instrumental in improving response times for patrol officers and aiding detectives in investigating cases, leading to increased solvability rates and a 100% clearance rate on homicides in 2025 up to the last homicide of the year.
New Veterinary Clinic Opens to Combat Animal Overpopulation and Improve Public Health
The city has established a new veterinary clinic, custom-designed as a double-wide modular building, to provide essential veterinary services to both shelter animals and community pets. This initiative aims to address the backlog and increase in stray, sick, and injured animals resulting from the limited accessibility of services during the COVID-19 pandemic. The clinic, which began operations in June 2025, has already served over a thousand animals and is projected to double its capacity. Services include spay/neuter surgeries, wellness exams, urgent care, vaccinations, microchips, and preventative care, all intended to help decrease animal overpopulation and create a safer living environment.
