Hackinack City Council Honors Community Members and Athletes, Renames Street

The city council honored several individuals and teams for their achievements. This included commemorating the intersection of Beach and Second Street as 'Gordon Scooter Whiting Way' in honor of Gordon Scooter Whiting's contributions to the community. Proclamations were also issued for Community Health Improvement Week, Sylvia Brown for her Girl Scout Gold Award and food pantry initiative, and student athletes Briana Darling, Michael McInnity, and Seven Garcia for their athletic accomplishments. Certificates of recognition were given to the Hackinack High School 2025-2026 outdoor track and boys indoor track teams for their championship wins.
