Public Hearing Set for Temporary Business License for Recycling Operation
The council agreed to set a public hearing for July 7th, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. to discuss the issuance of a temporary business license for a business located at 930 West McIntosh Road, involving recycling services.
Rezoning of 3.448 Acres from Agricultural to Highway Commercial Introduced
The council introduced Ordinance 061626, which concerns the rezoning of 3.448 acres of land owned by James Otis, James Otus Family Trust. The property is located at 21101 West 7th Circle and is proposed to be rezoned from the Agricultural District P3 to Highway Commercial district. The council authorized the mayor to execute an agreement with Poly Incorporated for construction, engineering, and inspection services for sidewalk construction along Bellwood Road and George C. Wallace Drive. The project is associated with Project Number TA-PU-ST25(923) and has a cost not to exceed $88,500.
Council Considers Rezoning 82 Acres for High-Density Residential Development
The council considered a request to rezone approximately 82.02 acres from Agriculture District and R2 medium density single family district to R3 high density single family residential district. The property is located along the north side of Old Salem Road and east side of US 84. The proposal includes a 256-unit subdivision. Staff recommended approval with conditions, and the planning commission also recommended approval with additional contingencies.
