Marquis on Maple Residents Raise Concerns Over Maple Avenue Loading Zone Visibility

Kathleen Owens, president of the Marquis on Maple Condominium Association, presented concerns regarding traffic safety and visibility issues at the Marquis parking lot exit onto Maple Avenue. She stated that vehicles parked in the loading zone obstruct sightlines, creating a hazard for drivers exiting the lot. Owens highlighted that these issues predate the Dash apartment development and that despite resident complaints and requests for review by village officials, the problem remains unresolved. An independent engineering analysis by Kimley-Horn found that the loading zone spaces obstruct sightlines and do not comply with AASHTO standards, recommending the removal of three of the five spaces to improve safety [cite: 67-271].

Council Reviews PUD Amendment and Signage Plan for 330 Ogden Avenue Development

The council discussed a Planned Unit Development (PUD) amendment and master sign plan for the property at 330 Ogden Avenue, which also includes 4241 Florence Avenue. The proposal involves demolishing two existing buildings and constructing a new, larger building with service and automobile showroom functions, consolidating the site into one building.
