PA American Water Outlines 2025-2026 Project Progress and Future Plans
PA American Water provided an update on their 2025 and 2026 projects, including the completion of all 2025 curb-to-curb restoration work on 29 streets, totaling over 7 miles, which was finished by the end of May. The 2026 pipe work is complete, and restoration is underway, focusing on streets in the Dunmore section, with Quincy and Taylor to be completed before the school year begins, estimated by the end of August. The company also anticipates potential additional investment for the end of the 2026 season, which could fund work on four more streets in Scranton (Hickory, Willow, Alder, and Cedar) to address fire flow issues, or these will be prioritized for the 2027 season if funding is not secured. Discussions also covered ongoing issues with pave cuts and coordination with other utility companies on roadwork.
