City Updates Job Descriptions and Pay Grades for Multiple Departments
The City Commission adopted Order 26-95, updating various job descriptions and pay grades across several departments, including Administration, Building and Maintenance and Grounds, and Fire Department. These updates are intended to provide for more professional growth and better align titles with departmental functions, such as economic development. The changes are effective upon adoption.
City Approves Annexation of Properties on Pleasure Drive and Benjamin Drive
The City Commission conducted the second reading and voted on Ordinance 26-21, regarding the voluntary annexation of properties at 223 Pleasure Drive and 611 Benjamin Drive into the city limits. The properties are contiguous to the city, urban in character, and the city can provide services. The matter was referred to the Planning and Zoning Commission for a zoning recommendation. The ordinance passed.
Retirement Benefits Increased for One Police and Fire Pensioner
The City Commission adopted Order 26-100, acknowledging an increase in retirement benefits for police and firefighters not covered by the county employees retirement system. A single pensioner, governed by ordinance 87-26, will receive a 4% pension increase for fiscal year 26-27. This increase will be funded by property taxes set aside for the pension fund and potentially the general fund.
Change Orders Approved for Richmond Regional Sports Complex
The City Commission approved Order 26-101, authorizing two change orders for the Richmond Regional Sports Complex. Change Order Number 4 for Bid Package 2 includes adding flagpoles, revising clearing for disc golf and mountain bike trails, adjusting the disc golf layout, and modifying netting for soccer fields. Proposal Request Number 9 revises sidewalks and dog park layout. Change Order Number 1 for the mountain bike bid package includes two modular steel bridges. These projects are funded from the project fund.
