Renton Farmers Market Reopens, Legacy Square Expands, and Transit Center Parking Garage Funded
The city has reopened the farmers market in Piazza Park and expanded it across Logan Street due to the opening of Legacy Square. Additionally, Renton is celebrating its 125th anniversary throughout the year with video booths at local events. A significant win for Renton is the Sound Transit Board fully funding the Renton Transit Center parking garage, which will support downtown businesses, improve transit connections, and provide critical access infrastructure.
South 43rd Street Repaving Underway to Improve Access and Longevity
Construction began last month to repave South 43rd Street, a major access point for State Route 167 travelers and destinations such as IKEA and Valley Medical Center. This work is expected to maintain the roadway's condition and extend its pavement life up to 15 years.
Mayor Honors High School Students Committing to STEM Careers
