She noted that cars are again parking at the top of the hill on Pine Valley Drive, hindering access. Moffat mentioned discussing a potential solution with Rust Paul and believes the issue will worsen with the construction of new townhouses across the street.
Pleasant Hill Approves Carbon Reduction Program Project for University Avenue Corridor
The city council approved the acceptance of the Carbon Reduction Program (CRP) project, funded by the MPO carbon reduction program with up to $320,000 from the Iowa DOT. The project, managed by Olson with traffic engineer Meredith Enry as project manager, involved improvements along the University Avenue corridor aimed at reducing carbon emissions. The project included replacing the traffic signal system with modern detection technology, enabling features like turning movement counts, volume analysis, and classification of vehicles and pedestrians. This has resulted in reduced wait times, improved traffic flow closer to free-flow speed, and less congestion. The new system also allows for remote adjustments and better data access. Public comments indicated significant improvements in traffic light timing and reduced resident complaints.
Pleasant Hill City Council Honors Retiring Finance Director/City Clerk Dina Spooner
