2026-2027 Visitor Improvement Fund Recommendations Approved
The board discussed and approved recommendations for the 2026-2027 Visitor Improvement Fund allocation, submitted by the Visitor Improvement Fund Committee. Douglas County Corrections Department Reports Under Budget Status and Operational Updates for May 2026
The Deputy Director of Corrections, Amber Redmond, presented the May 2026 report, highlighting that the department is under budget by $684,000 after 11 months of the fiscal year. Overtime costs decreased by $8,000 from the previous month, totaling nearly $267,000 for May. Over $820,000 in bond payments were collected. Eight officers below the rank of sergeant were lost in May, but staffing was at 99% by May 31st. The report also detailed admissions and releases for various programs, compliance audit statuses (PRIA, NCCHC, ACA), population increases, medical and mental health services, security operations, and staff awards.
Cross Strain Brewing Company LLC Approved for Class C Liquor License
The board approved a Class C liquor license for Cross Strain Brewing Company LLC, doing business as Cross Strain Brewing, located at 17915 Manderson, Omaha, Nebraska. This will be their third taproom in the state, and the applicant, represented by General Manager Doug Verna, stated they have been a positive community member and have grown substantially. The motion to approve the license passed unanimously (4-0).
County to Seek Proposals for New ERP System
The Douglas County Board of Commissioners, in cooperation with the city of Omaha if it chooses to participate, will prepare and advertise a request for proposals for a cloud-based enterprise resource planning (ERP) system to replace existing on-premises infrastructure. This item was initially presented by Commissioner Roger Garcia and a motion was made to lay it over for one week to June 30th, which passed unanimously (4-0).
