He also pointed to examples in Fayetteville, Georgia, and Quincy, Washington, regarding water usage and contamination from data centers. D'Souza suggested forming a committee to monitor the data center's monthly resource usage to ensure accountability. He stated his preference would be to block data center construction entirely due to technological limitations in ensuring them as safe neighbors.
Village Board Considers Snow Removal Contract with MAX Contractors
The Village Board is considering a proposal for snow removal and ice control services for the 2026-2031 winter seasons. The contract is with MAX contractors of Displains, Illinois, for an amount not to exceed $174,400 for the 2026-27 season, with subsequent annual increases tied to the Chicago CPI (2% minimum, 4% maximum). The scope of work includes plowing 110 cul-de-sacs, 11 village-owned parking lots, and a 19.5-mile residential street section. MAX contractors has been providing these services for the past 13 years and has a strong record. The proposal was selected as the lowest cost option compared to Pete's Perfection Plus, which submitted a bid of $228,700.
