Monroeville Renews Membership in Turtle Creek Valley Council of Governments
The council approved an ordinance authorizing intergovernmental cooperation by establishing membership in the Turtle Creek Valley Council of Governments (TCVG), referred to by the acronym TCV. This renewal of membership is in accordance with Pennsylvania statute 180 197253.
Municipal Manager Authorized to Sign Easement for Saunders Station Road Bridge Replacement Project
The council authorized the municipal manager to sign a temporary construction easement for the Saunders Station Road bridge replacement project, which is being completed by Alageney. This authorization follows a six-year process.
Council Approves Bids for 2026 Paving, Seal Coat, and Fog Seal Programs
The council approved bids and proposals for several 2026 programs. For the 2026 Paving Program (2602-PAV), Liberon Incorporated was the low bidder. For the 2026 Seal Coat Program (2603-SC), Russell Standard Corporation was the low bidder, noted as a typical vendor. For the 2026 Fog Seal Program (2604-FS), Russell Standard Corporation was also the sole bidder. The Fog Seal program had approximately $40,000 left over from the estimated amount compared to the bid amount, with a cautionary note about oil index fluctuations.
Muslim Community Center Receives Subdivision and Conditional Use Approval with Conditions
The council approved the Muslim Community Center subdivision plan and conditional use approval. The subdivision plan consolidates two parcels into one lot at 233 Seaman Lane. The conditional use approval allows for multiple principal structures on the property, with specific conditions addressing security cameras, sound modification devices, exterior lighting, advanced notification of special events, and traffic control measures at the intersection of Northern Pike and Route 22. A waiver was also granted to release the Pittsburgh Muslim Community Center Trust from installing sidewalks as required by ordinance numbers 1016 and 2235.
