Worldwide Industries Corp Awarded Contract for Lovering Street Tank Rehabilitation
The Select Board approved a contract with Worldwide Industries Corp for the rehabilitation of the Lovering Street tank for $1,261,600. Worldwide was the lowest bidder, and reference checks conducted with engineer Haley & Ward were favorable. Work is scheduled for the fall.
Town's OPEB Trust and Stabilization Funds Show Strong Growth
Frank Rossi provided a positive update on the town's OPEB (Other Post-Employment Benefits) Trust and Stabilization funds managed by Rockland Trust. The OPEB Trust has grown to $4.9 million from $857,000 in 2019, with an average annual return of 11.38%. The Stabilization fund holds $9.3 million, invested in zero-risk, liquid assets, earning an average interest rate of 3.4%.
Teenager Recognized for Alert Actions During House Fire

Upon arriving home from school, he discovered smoke, texted his father, and called 911, enabling firefighters to arrive promptly and extinguish the fire before it spread further. Evergreen Cemetery Rules Vote Postponed to Address Dog-Walking Policy

The board agreed to revisit the dog-walking rules on July 15th, with a proposal for new signage and potentially stricter regulations if the problem persists.
Massachusetts Towns to Receive New Copies of Declaration of Independence
Lynn announced that all 351 cities and towns in Massachusetts will receive a new copy of the Declaration of Independence by July 4th, a state initiative to commemorate America's 250th anniversary. She suggested framing and displaying the document, possibly near the 'Fountain Father' statue.
