City Council Reviews and Approves Multiple Agenda Items, Including Engineering Services, Resurfacing Resolution, Sewer Project, and Grant Approvals
The city council discussed and approved placing an item on the consent agenda to permit Copper and Oak for an event on Saturday, June 20th, 2026. The item was noted as having already taken place but was included for voting purposes. The council also discussed and approved placing several other items on the regular agenda, including engineering services work order number 20 for the curb and sidewalk project, a resolution for MFT resurfacing section 26-0009-00-RS to use MFT funds for mill and overlay resurfacing, and the Campus View Drive Sewer project. For the Campus View Drive Sewer project, the council considered granting authority to the mayor to sign documents, the city attorney to enter into agreements with homeowners, and Crawford, Murphy, and Tilley to advertise for bids. A quarter-million-dollar fund was proposed for homeowner connection costs with a repayment structure, to be funded through the sewer enterprise fund. Additionally, the council reviewed Economic Development Commission grant approvals for the Lincoln Art Institute, Oasis Senior Center, John Roche, and Katie Davis. Finally, an ordinance adopting amendment number one to the appropriation ordinance was discussed, which involves transferring minimal amounts between line items within sub-funds to comply with state law. The council also discussed a renewal of a certificate of deposit for the sewer OM fund and a grant request for playground equipment at the 8th Street lot, which exceeds the grant amount by $8,673, requiring additional city council approval for the remaining costs from the community improvements line item. Finally, a walk-on topic regarding the Woods Foundation grant for playground equipment was discussed, with a not-to-exceed amount of $10,000 to be considered from the community improvements line item.
