Planning Commission Recommends Zoning Change for South Valley Drive Property
The Planning and Zoning Commission reviewed a proposed zoning map amendment for the property at 1240 South Valley Drive. The amendment seeks to change the zoning from NH1S (neighborhood 1 suburban) to CRS (commercial retail suburban). Staff recommended approval, citing that the current NH1S zoning incorrectly does not permit the existing shopping/business center and a wireless communication structure on the property, making it non-conforming. The proposed CRS zoning aligns with the surrounding commercial areas and the city's comprehensive plan, specifically the regional commercial place type. The commission voted to recommend approval to the city council.
