Doylestown Township to Join Nishamin Creek Collaborative
The Nishamin Creek Collaborative, a voluntary non-regulatory partnership of several municipalities and the Bucks County Conservation District, is seeking authorization to execute an agreement and appoint a representative to its steering committee. The collaborative focuses on the Nishamin Creek, addressing its impacts through grant applications and public education. Doylestown Township is one of the participating municipalities. Andrea has been recommended for appointment to the steering committee, with potential involvement from the Environmental Advisory Council (EAC).
Residents Voice Concerns Over Pump House Maintenance and Easement Property
Residents at 327 Bunker Hollow Road have raised concerns regarding the maintenance of a pump house and surrounding trees adjacent to their property. They have historically maintained the area, including cutting grass and ensuring trees were healthy, as part of an easement. However, they were recently informed by Brent East that the township (Doylestown Township Municipal Authority - DTMA) will no longer maintain the area or allow them to cut the grass. The residents are seeking a resolution to ensure the continued maintenance and screening of the pump house.
Township Begins Curative Amendment Process for Data Center Regulations
The township is initiating the municipal curative amendment process to address the lack of specific ordinances for data centers, which are lawful uses in Pennsylvania. This process will provide the township with 180 days to develop and adopt an ordinance regulating data centers. During this period, no applications for data centers can be submitted or reviewed. The township can only invoke this process once every three years, and the ordinance must be adopted within the 180-day timeframe. This process also acts as a hold on potential data center applications.
Townhouse Development Proposed at 651 North Shady Retreat Road
Triumph Development Group LLC is seeking preliminary and final land development approval for a proposed townhouse development at 651 North Shady Retreat Road. The project has been revised from 12 units to 10 units, with the historic house on the property being maintained and converted into a single-family dwelling. Variances were granted by the zoning hearing board for buffer requirements and the cul-de-sac placement, allowing for a 30-foot buffer along the Mahogany Court neighborhood. Existing woodland wetlands and floodplains will be retained in their natural state, with a blanket easement for the township. A fee in lieu of recreation space of $1880 per unit is applicable. Internal sidewalks will connect to the township's trail network, providing access to Doylestown Hospital, Doyle Elementary, Lenape, and Doylestown Borough.

The planning commission recommended approval of the project and all 14 requested waivers.
