Dixon City Council Approves Agenda, Discusses SB 1087, and Confirms Appointments
The Dixon City Council voted to approve the agenda for the meeting on June 16th, 2026, with all members present and voting in favor. The council also emerged from a closed session, reporting that direction was given to staff on items 0.2 and 0.3, an appeal of the Chrome 6 Superior Court decision will be pursued for item 0.5, and item 0.4 was continued to the next regular meeting. Public comment was received regarding accomplishments of local individuals and a decision to appeal a court ruling. Council members provided updates on various committee meetings and local events. A motion to approve the consent calendar, excluding item 9.8, passed unanimously. Item 9.8, concerning SB 1087, was debated extensively regarding its implications for transportation projects and climate goals, ultimately being voted against. The council then proceeded to new business, approving appointments to the Planning Commission (Mr. Diaz and Mr. McMillan) and the Parks and Recreation Commission (Mr. Diaz, Mr. Groves, and Mr. Jose). The Treasurer's report was accepted, and a resolution to select the Independent Voice for legal notice publication services for the 26-27 fiscal year was adopted. The meeting concluded with a moment of silence for Chris Pyazlian, an employee of Recology who passed away.
