Brook Park Council Approves Ordinance to Increase Minimum Number of Police Sergeants and Lieutenants
The council discussed and unanimously approved an ordinance amending section 141.02 of the Brook Park Codified Ordinances, which pertains to the composition of the police department's executive head. The amendment changes the required number of police sergeants and lieutenants from 'not more than four' to 'not less than four,' allowing for greater flexibility in staffing and training, particularly in anticipation of upcoming retirements and the needs of a new stadium.
Brook Park Council Extends Decisions on Two Liquor License Applications on Snow Road
The council deferred decisions on two liquor permit applications for properties located at 15119 Snow Road and 15069 Snow Road, respectively. The first application, for 15119 Snow Road (Schnow LLC, game day bar), involves a transfer of an existing license where the original holder has passed away. The Law Director requested more time to investigate legal complexities surrounding the transfer, particularly concerning the estate of the deceased permit holder. The second application, for 15069 Snow Road (Ashes Tobacco Shop), is for a new carry-out license. Due to the complexities of the first application and the proximity of the two businesses within the same building, the council unanimously agreed to file extensions for both, with the next consideration scheduled for July 15th.
