City Approves New Collective Bargaining Agreement with Police Union
The City Commission authorized the Mayor and City Manager to execute a new collective bargaining agreement (CBA) for fiscal year 2026-2027 between the City of Ardmore and the Fraternal Order of Police, Lodge #108. City Approves $238,998 for Dam Vegetation Removal at Two Lakes
The City Commission considered and approved the bid for dam vegetation removal at Lake Scott King and Lake Gene Newstat. John Deere was the lowest bidder with a total amount of $238,998. This vegetation removal is considered a preventative maintenance measure to prevent cracks and seepage in the dams, which could lead to larger problems. The project will be funded under the current water treatment plant budget.
City Approves $139,500 Bid for Water Treatment Plant Chlorine Scrubber Rehabilitation
The City Commission considered and approved the bid for the rehabilitation of the chlorine scrubber at the water treatment plant. Integrity Municipal Systems was the sole bidder, with a total amount of $139,500. The project will be funded from the current water treatment plant budget. The scrubber is described as a safety measure that would absorb chlorine gas in the event of a leak.
Ardmore Police Station Construction Contract Increased by $30,175 for Change Order #3
The City Commission reviewed and approved Change Order Number 3 for the new Ardmore Police Station construction. The change order adds $30,175.54 to the contract, bringing the new total to $15,623,572.47. The changes include adding a footing for a planter, mechanical revisions for HVAC, additional structural support, and relocating a door. These changes were deemed necessary due to field conditions and system coordination. The project schedule will not be impacted.
City Commission Enters Executive Session to Discuss Court Claim Settlement
The City Commission convened into executive session to discuss a court claim (OMAG #218180-1-LN) related to an incident at 1131 South Springdale Loop. The purpose was to discuss providing settlement authority to the City Manager for resolving the claim with their insurance carrier, as permitted by state statute.
