While rotten wood has been repaired, the paint violation remains, and the property is unregistered. The total accrued fines are $5,250. An order was entered authorizing the city to place an official lien on the property for the total amount of fines. The fine continues to accrue at $25 per day per unresolved violation.
Lien Authorized for Over $8,700 in Fines on 1890 Palomia Street Property for Roof and Registration Violations
The magistrate found continuing violations at 1890 Palomia Street related to roof disrepair and rotten/weakened wood, as well as failure to register the property as required by city code 30-215. The roof has a hole covered by a tarp, and the sophet is rotted and falling. The property has been in this state since at least September 2025, and no registration has occurred. Fines totaling $8,700 have accrued, and the city is authorized to record an official lien on the property. Fines will continue to accrue at $25 per violation per day until satisfied.
Multiple Code Violations Found at 500 North 9th Street Property; 120 Days Granted for Compliance
The magistrate found multiple violations of city codes 30-169 and 30-32 at 500 North 9th Street, including deteriorating structure, paint, mold, mildew, and roofing issues. The property owner was given 120 days to bring the property into compliance, with fines of $25 per day per violation to commence on October 15, 2026, in case of non-compliance. Due process was satisfied via certified mail with a signed green card return, and contact was made with the owner regarding the sale of the property.
Multiple Code Violations and Safety Hazards Identified at 314 Emistry Street; Owner Has 10 Days to Address Safety Concerns
The magistrate found 12 violations of city codes 30-68, 30-169, and 30-32 at 314 Emistry Street. The property owner, Inmobilaria Data LLC, failed to register the property, address blighted conditions, repair structural damage, and maintain the exterior. Due to the severe structural issues and safety hazards, the city is seeking to have the property posted as unsafe. The owner has 10 days to make the property safe, which includes securing it, and to obtain necessary permits for structural repairs. Non-permitted items must be completed within 10 days. The expired roof permit means the roof also needs to be addressed.
Magistrate Orders Compliance for Unregistered Vehicle on Dodge Street Property
The magistrate found violations of city code 30-63 regarding an unregistered and inoperable vehicle stored on private property, visible to the public. The property owner must bring the property into compliance within 30 days by either rendering the vehicle operable with current registration or removing it from the property. Failure to comply will result in a fine of $25 per day, starting July 17, 2026. Due process was satisfied through certified mail and property posting.
