American Legion Post Thanks City for Memorial Day Events
Peg Albert from the Ladies American Legion Post 644 thanked the city for the Memorial Day weekend events, including the parade and presentations at the city building. June Council Meeting Schedule and Juneteenth Celebration Details Announced
The council noted that this is their only regular meeting for June due to the summer session, with the next meeting scheduled for the first Monday in July. Details for the Juneteenth celebration were provided: June 19th (Friday) from 6-9 PM at the City Center (1500 building) with a band, food trucks, vendors, and a photo booth; and June 20th (Saturday) from 9 AM with a parade, followed by Chase Bank's financial literacy activities, historical presentations, spoken word, hip-hop, food, and more.
Council to Reduce Paper Usage by Printing Legislation Selectively
Council member Miss Clear suggested printing only legislation the first time it's presented to council packets to save paper and resources, with extra copies available upon request. This initiative aims to be more environmentally conscious.
Basketball Hoops to be Reinstalled in Schaefer Park
