Wastewater Treatment Plant Sludge Hauling and Disposal Contracts Approved
The council approved contracts for wastewater treatment plant sludge hauling and disposal for fiscal years 2026-2027. The city has a seven-year agreement with BCA Express for hauling. The city aims to reduce long-term landfill costs.
City Employee Parking Lot Fencing Bid Awarded
The city council approved a bid award for fencing and brick column installation for the city employee parking lot to Nationwide Construction Group for $129,800. The project aims to meet zoning requirements for decorative fencing along street frontages. The total encumbration, including a 4% contingency, is $135,000. This required moving approximately $30,000 from the capital expenditure fund balance.
Salam Bean Construction Awarded 2026 Water Main and Paving Program Contract
The council approved the bid award for the 2026 water main and paving program to Salam Bean Construction for $2,889,944. This project includes approximately one mile of street repaving, half a mile of water main replacement, and new storm and sanitary sewer lines. The bid came in 2.8% lower than the engineer's estimate. The total encumbration, including a 10% contingency, is $3,150,000.
City Approves BSNA Software Upgrade to Cloud Version
The city council approved an agreement and proposal from BSNA software to upgrade their current enterprise software to the cloud version. The city has been using the BSNA software since 2009, but it is no longer supported. The upgrade cost is $195,845, with an additional $10,000 for potential training and implementation.
