Marple Police Department Reports 9% Increase in Calls for Service in May; Hero Bowl Incident Addressed
The Marple Township Police Department responded to 1,625 calls for service in May, an increase of 9% from the previous month. Traffic-related calls constituted over 21% of the total, with medical emergencies at 16% and school checks at 9%. Reported crimes increased by 14% to 48 incidents compared to April, though they were down 2% compared to May 2025. Theft-related crimes accounted for 44% of all reported crimes, with 62% of those being retail-related. The department made 19 arrests with a total of 37 charges. Two notable incidents from May include a juvenile petition filed against a 15-year-old for striking an employee with an e-bike and the Hero Bowl event, where a fight broke out leading to a stampede of teens. The MERT team was present at the Hero Bowl and is credited with helping to prevent the situation from escalating. Marple Township Appoints New Manager, Approves Capital Purchases and Employee Agreement

Lawrence Park Partnership Subdivision Plan Approved by Marple Commissioners
