Township Considers 4-Year IT Services Agreement Renewal with Infradapt
The Lower Merion Township Board of Commissioners is reviewing an agreement renewal with Infradapt for IT services. Infradapt has provided services since approximately 2020, managing networking systems, outside IT vendors, and the voice over IP phone system. The proposed renewal is for a 4-year term with a monthly cost of approximately $8,200, a slight increase from the previous $7,000 range due to added users, IT build-out, and updated software licenses. The board was advised that changing IT providers would be a challenging process.
Township Pursues Grant for ADA Ramp Upgrades Across Multiple Neighborhoods
The township is applying for a DCED multimodal grant to fund ADA retrofits at intersections in older neighborhoods, including Brookside Farms, Brandywine Village, Beaumont at Brookside, and Penns Meadow. The goal is to upgrade approximately 144 ramps, costing an estimated $1.1 million, with a 30% township match. This initiative aims to improve accessibility for all residents, with a previous grant for 52 ramps already in progress.
East Texas Playground Project to Begin in July; Tennis Courts Underway
The East Texas playground project is set to commence in early July, with Public Works preparing the site pad. The existing playground will remain open during construction, with the excavation area fenced off. The West Goshen tennis court resurfacing and re-fencing project has begun, and lights for the softball field are currently in the design phase. The manager also provided updates on stormwater lining projects and street paving schedules.
Enhanced Pedestrian Crossing Signage Planned for Spring Creek Road and Heritage Drive
The Lower Merion Township Board of Commissioners reviewed the need for additional signage for a pedestrian crossing on Spring Creek Road at Heritage Drive. While a crosswalk exists, feedback indicated a need for pre-warning signs and signage at the crossing itself. The township must request permission from PennDOT for these signs, as it is a state roadway. The township will accept responsibility for purchasing, erecting, and maintaining the signage. Discussions also included the broader intersection complexities, existing sidewalks, and potential future traffic impacts from new developments.
