The celebration begins in Loganville on June 27th with a Bon Jovi tribute band and fireworks at West Walton Park. Subsequent events include a faith and freedom breakfast in Monroe on June 30th, a food truck celebration in Loganville on July 1st, a hometown heroes parade in Social Circle on July 2nd, a concert in Walnut Grove on July 3rd, and a full day of activities including a 5K, farmer's market, and fireworks in Monroe on July 4th. Information is available on walton250.com. Additionally, a Grooving on the Green concert featuring Bumping the Mango is scheduled for tomorrow night at 7:30 PM.

City Council Approves FY2027 Budget, Allocates Additional Funds for Road Paving

The City Council approved the fiscal year 2027 budget resolution. The approved budget includes an allocation of $145,000 in additional funds for paving more projects, bringing the total not-to-exceed amount to $554,000. This allocation allows for a 35% match with other additional LMIG money that needs to be spent. The city received $48,864,000 in LMIG funding for fiscal year 26.
