The exhibit aimed to capture the evolution of Monroe, the integration period, and the sense of community. Data was collected from 176 map pins and 253 postcards, revealing themes of nostalgia, hope for diversity and inclusion, and concerns about future growth, affordability, and parking. Recommendations included a Carver High School preservation study, an inclusive housing plan, and a parking task force.

City Approves $254,947 for Local Road Maintenance Projects

The city council approved the Local Road Assistance Administration Funds for 2026, totaling $254,947.16 from GDOT. These funds are for road work and do not require a local match. The main project will be on Vine Street from Panel Road to the city limits, utilizing a new 'permaflex OGI' material for enhanced durability due to truck traffic. Other work includes an overlay on Henson Drive and patching in the Gatewood subdivision and on Administration Drive.
