Lincoln City Council Approves Speed Limit Reduction on Lithian Road, Requests State Action

The Lincoln City Council approved a resolution to reduce the speed limit on Lithian Road from the bridge to Victor Grove Church Road from 45 mph to 35 mph. This section of Lithian Road is maintained by the city. The council also requested that the state Department of Transportation (DOT) reduce the speed limit on their maintained section of Lithian Road (from the bridge to East Main) from 45 mph to 35 mph. The speed reduction is driven by increased traffic, golfer crossings, and higher traffic volumes from the industrial area.
