Richard Bolton Appointed to Planning and Zoning Board of Appeals
The village board approved the appointment of Richard Bolton to the Planning and Zoning Board of Appeals. This appointment fills a vacancy created by the departure of longtime members. Resolution 1559 officially made the appointment.
Village Receives $300,000 CDBG Grant for Street Resurfacing
The village was awarded a $300,000 grant from the Cook County Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program for street resurfacing. The village is actively pursuing designation as an official 'Trail Town' by the American Discovery Trail Society. A committee has been meeting monthly to develop an application, which highlights Lansing's extensive trail network (American Discovery Trail, Great American Rail Trail, Grand Illinois Trail). The application includes a 'Trailtown-Friendly Business' program with over 120 participating businesses offering services or discounts to trail users. The village aims to be the first designated Trail Town in Illinois and fourth in the US.
