Kerrville City Council Debates, Then Enters Executive Session on Personnel Matters

The City Council engaged in a discussion regarding an upcoming executive session concerning personnel matters. Councilmember Harris expressed concerns about the number of items (eight) listed for discussion, suggesting it was too broad and potentially problematic. She moved not to go into executive session, arguing that some discussions, like staff turnover, could be held in open session. Another council member supported this motion, citing a lack of prior information on most items. However, the motion failed on a 3-2 vote. The council then proceeded to vote 3-2 to enter executive session under section 551.074 for personnel matters. Following the executive session, Councilmember Harris stated there is support for the city manager and that she would meet with him to discuss certain issues, emphasizing no action was taken during the session.
