Huntsville City Schools Announces New Principals and Staff Appointments
The board approved the human resource report, which included the hiring of a new principal for Goldsmith Schiffman Elementary, Ms. Jane Herndon, who joins from Madison City. The board also approved a professional service agreement report. Additionally, Ms. Haley James was announced as the new lead for school improvement at the central office, moving from her previous role at Goldsmith Schiffman Elementary. The board also announced two other new principals: Ms. Bailey Hicks for Weitzburg Middle School and Selena Hughes for Ridgecrest Elementary School. Trustee expressed well wishes to the new principals and acknowledged the departure of a former assistant principal from Grissom.
Huntsville City Schools Celebrates Instructional Leadership Academy Graduates
The board recognized 30 graduates of the Instructional Leadership Academy (ILA). The program involved exploring various aspects of Huntsville City Schools, and participants are expected to continue supporting students in leadership roles. The names of the graduates from different schools were read aloud. Talent Management and Lee Simmons were credited with managing the program, and thanks were extended to district leaders who presented to the ILA class.
