The Board of Selectmen approved encumbering $3,619,704.92 for fiscal year 2026, as recommended by the finance director. The Board of Selectmen reviewed and accepted revisions to Chapter 98 of the municipal code concerning purchasing and contracts. Key amendments included clarifying the Town Administrator's role as purchasing agent in the finance director's absence, adjusting monetary thresholds for bids ('up to $50,000' and 'over $50,000'), adding the requirement for awards to be 'approved by' the board, and updating terminology like 'Nashua Standard Metropolitan Statistical Area' to 'Nashua area.' Other edits included disqualifying non-responsible bidders and clarifying expense report approvals.

The original bridge was removed in 2022 due to safety concerns. The new bridge will be functional, durable, and require minimal maintenance, aiming for a lifespan of 20-30 years. The Benson Park Advisory Committee initiated the concern, and town staff coordinated with M.R. Lacasse Homes and Public Works to facilitate the project.
Hudson Fire Department Purchases Particulate Hoods to Enhance Firefighter Safety
The Hudson Fire Department requested and received approval to use $5,980 from the Target Public Safety Funds to purchase 52 particulate hoods for every firefighter. These hoods provide a higher level of protection against carcinogens by offering a barrier from soot and smoke, in addition to thermal protection. This purchase was not budgeted for and will be funded through the safety fund to avoid impacting the department's operational budget.
