Heated Debate Erupts Over Budget Amendments and Council Authority

DPW Reports Litter Pickup Success and Effective Drainage Management
The Department of Public Works reported that crews picked up 39 bags of litter in the past 7 days. Despite 4.3 inches of rain in the past two weeks, there were no major drainage problems, with water on Burnside draining sufficiently. Drainage ditches are being kept clean by the drains department, preventing reports of issues. All departments are reported to be busy.
Police Department Items Declared Surplus Due to End-of-Service Life
The council discussed and approved the surplus of police department items including a Glock model G45, an EOTech weapon sight, an Aimpoint Micro T2 weapon sight, and three Mavic 2 Enterprise UAVs. These items are being declared surplus as they are at the end of their service life, with the UAVs' software no longer being supported.
