Village Tables Request for Sewer Discount Amidst Water Leak Discussion
The board addressed a broken waterline beneath the home at 79 79 1/2 Central Ave. Due to the leak, water entered the ground and not the sewer system, leading the resident to request a discount on the sewer charge. The resolution proposed a discount of $311.92 for water sewer account 0198. Trustee Wendel requested the resolution be tabled for further research and digestion.
David Rill Permanently Appointed as Water Treatment Plant Operator Trainee
David Rill, previously an operator trainee, has passed his civil service examination and has been permanently appointed to the position of operator trainee at the water treatment plant. This appointment is effective immediately.
Village Approves $23,266 for Webster Road Tank Cleaning
The board authorized the chemical cleaning of the Webster Road tank for the water treatment plant by Advanced Tank and Infrastructure Solutions, Sudbury, Massachusetts, in the amount of $23,266. Assurances were given that this process would not require a boil water order. Additionally, budget transfers were approved for the 2025-26 fiscal year, with a correction to reflect the 2026-27 fiscal year, related to replacing actuators and valves and tank chemical cleaning.
Final Payment Authorized for Chlorinator Project Inspection; As-Built Drawings Forthcoming
The board authorized the payment of a final code inspection for the chlorinator upgrade project, with LaBella Associates recommending the authorization. The amount of $1,138 will be covered by an allowance within the contractor's agreement. As-built drawings are expected from LaBella by late July.
Village Board Suspends Public Meeting Comments Citing Safety Concerns
A resolution was passed to suspend the public portion of village board meetings, citing safety issues within the meeting. This action was met with questions from residents regarding their right to ask questions and record proceedings.
