The City Council approved an ordinance (ORD-2026-012) for Bluegrass Backyard Recreations LLC, allowing a change of concept development plan for a 2.53-acre area at 7544 Burlington Pike. The change permits the display and sale of outdoor furniture, sheds, playsets, and other items within a commercial parkway corridor study overlay district.
Florence City Council Approves 2025 Fiscal Year Budget Amendment
The City Council approved ordinance 015 2026, which is Amendment Number Two to the city's budget for the 2025 fiscal year. The amendment addresses several changes, including adjustments for temporary employees in the finance department, accounting for Kentucky state sales and use tax related to a federal investigation, and modifications to the health and dental self-insurance fund due to reinsurance reimbursements and increased claims.
Planet Fitness Health Club Approved for Development on Cavalry Drive
The City Council approved ordinance 014 2026 for a 3.9-acre area on the south side of Cavalry Drive, west of Weatherington Boulevard. Drury Project at US 42 to See Increased Hotel Intensity and Future Development Outlots
The City Council approved ordinance 013 2026, permitting a change of concept development plan for a 7.5-acre area at 7911 and 7915 US 42. This change allows for an increased intensity bonus for a previously approved hotel and provides for two outlots for future development within a commercial services plan development parkway corridor study district. The project is associated with Drury.
