Resident Supports Neighborhood Rezoning and Seeks Extension of Development Plan
A resident, Paul Steers, spoke in support of a rezoning in his neighborhood, stating it provides closure and ends discussions of commercial development, settling the area into six residential houses as originally intended in the 1960s. City of Chandler Earns Third Consecutive CEASE Designation for Combating Sexual Exploitation
The City of Chandler was recognized for the third consecutive year with the CEASE (Cities Empowered Against Sexual Exploitation) designation by the Arizona Anti-Trafficking Network (AATN). This designation signifies the city's commitment to combating sex trafficking by providing tools and resources to identify, report, and prevent these crimes. The city has met requirements including training 75% of its staff, committing to annual retraining, and incorporating this training into new employee onboarding. The Chandler Police Department has made 60 felony arrests for exploitation and/or trafficking, resulting in over 200 felony charges.

Resident Raises Concerns Over Mass Surveillance Technologies and Proposes Privacy-Preserving ALPR Solution
Igor Zenkov expressed concerns about mass surveillance technologies, specifically mentioning FLOCK surveillance and Automatic License Plate Readers (ALPRs), and the associated privacy violations sold by companies like Motorola, Genetech, and Axon.
