Tempe Council Approves Acceptance of Nearly $50,000 in Drink Test Kits for Safe Bar Program
The city council voted to approve the acceptance of an in-kind donation of approximately 8,600 NO test kits valued at nearly $50,000 from NNAP LLC. This donation will support the Tempe Safe Bar program, which is set to take effect on August 1st. Council Member Piti highlighted the generosity of the donation and the collaborative effort involved in preparing venues for the new program. The council also authorized the city manager or their designee to take necessary steps to advance community engagement and prevention programming related to drink spiking.
Tempe Renews Stop-Loss Insurance Contract with Sunlife Assurance
The council approved a one-year contract renewal with Sunlife Assurance for stop-loss insurance for the city's self-funded medical plan. The vote was unanimous, passing 7-0.
Tempe Renews Benefit Administration Contract with Allegiance Benefit Plan Management
The council approved a two-year contract renewal with Allegiance Benefit Plan Management Incorporated. This renewal covers preferred provider organization (PPO) medical network and administration services, flexible spending account (FSA) administration, and Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act (COBRA) administration services for eligible city employees. The approval was unanimous with a 7-0 vote.
Tempe Renews Contract for Water Utilities Components and Services
The council approved a one-year contract renewal with Border States Electric Supply. This renewal is for the purchase of Rockwell Allen Bradley Components, Electronics, Hardware, and Software Services for the Water Utilities Division. The approval was unanimous with a 7-0 vote.
Tempe Approves $48.5 Million in Multifamily Housing Revenue Bonds
The council approved and authorized the issuance of multifamily housing revenue bonds by the Industrial Development Authority of the City of Tempe. The bonds will be in an original aggregate principal amount not to exceed $48.5 million and are for the benefit of Residences at Dorsey LLC, an Arizona limited liability company. The approval was unanimous at 7-0.
