Bozier City Updates Ordinances for 630 Barksdale Boulevard Facility
The council introduced an ordinance to amend sections of the code of ordinances regarding the use of the facility located at 630 Barksdale Boulevard. The proposed changes aim to update outdated references in ordinances that date back to 1980, including references to the Arts Council, management, fee schedules, and specific building uses like its past function as a voting precinct. Rich Carroll, who manages the East Bank District and is revitalizing the area, proposed the cleanup, which was supported by Director Ray. Carroll provided an overview of the facility's current and planned uses, including art galleries, the East Bank Theater, multi-purpose rooms in the annex, and the plaza. The building is also a designated site on the United States Registry of Buildings.

The council introduced an ordinance to amend Ordinance 105 of 2025 for the SD 2505 Benton Road street repairs project, adding $300,000 in funding from the streets and drainage fund. This additional amount is needed because the bids received were approximately 11% over the engineer's estimate, likely due to factors such as fuel prices.
